What a Plus Blue payslip shows
- Your name and home address
- Your National Insurance number
- Employer name
- Pay date, pay period and period number
- Gross pay for the period
- PAYE income tax deducted
- National Insurance contributions and NI category letter
- Tax code
- Pension contributions, where applicable
- Student loan repayments, where applicable
- Any other deductions, itemised separately
- Net pay
- Year-to-date totals for gross pay, tax and National Insurance
Blue payslips: Standard or Plus?
The difference is the address. Standard Blue payslip: £35 for three. Your name, employer and full pay breakdown. No home address. Plus Blue payslip: £40 for three. Everything above, plus your home address and National Insurance number, with more space for deduction lines.
Choose Plus Blue where the document needs to confirm your address as well as your earnings. This is often the case for tenancy applications and some finance checks. If only the pay figures matter, the Standard Blue payslip covers the same information for £5 less.

Printed copies are produced on genuine payroll stationery, the same stock UK employers use, rather than plain office paper.
What each deduction on your payslip means
PAYE income tax
Income tax collected directly from your pay under Pay As You Earn. The amount depends on your tax code and which income tax band your earnings fall into.
National Insurance
Contributions toward your State Pension and certain benefits. The amount depends on your earnings and your NI category letter, which appears on the payslip.
Pension
If you are enrolled in a workplace pension, your contribution shows as a deduction. Under auto-enrolment, both you and your employer contribute.
Student loan
Repayments start once your income passes the threshold for your repayment plan. The plan number sets the threshold.
Year to date figures
Running totals from 6 April to the current pay date. These let you check that your annual tax and National Insurance are on track, and they should match your P60 at the end of the tax year.
When people order replacement payslips
- Tenancy applications and letting agent checks
- Loan and vehicle finance applications
- Mortgage applications
- Visa and immigration paperwork
- Personal financial records and bookkeeping
- Where a former employer no longer holds the records
Requirements vary between organisations. Some accept replacement documents without question; others ask for originals issued by the employer, or verify income directly through open banking. It is worth checking what your recipient will accept before you order.
Suitable for all types of work
Plus Blue payslips can be produced for permanent, part-time, temporary, agency and contract work. They are often ordered by people whose employer issued electronic payslips only, or who have left a job and lost access to the payroll portal.
Is a replacement payslip legal?
Yes, where the figures are accurate. Under Section 8 of the Employment Rights Act 1996, every UK worker has the right to an itemised pay statement on or before payday. Requesting a copy of your own payroll record is entirely lawful.
It is, however, a criminal offence to knowingly submit a document containing false financial information to a lender, landlord or public authority. Our service replaces genuine records that have been lost or are no longer accessible. Before we produce any document, we ask you to confirm that the pay information you have provided is a true and accurate reflection of your actual earnings.
Before you order
If you still have access to your employer’s payroll portal, your payslips may already be there as PDFs under Documents, Year End or Payslips. If you have left the job, your former employer must keep PAYE records for at least three years from the end of the tax year they relate to, so a written request covering that period should normally be possible.
If neither works, we can produce a replacement.
Confidential handling
Your personal and employment details are used only to produce the documents you have ordered. They are not shared with third parties.

Frequent Asked Questions
What information do I need to provide?
Your name and the address you used at the time, your National Insurance number, employer name, the pay period and pay frequency, and your gross or net pay for that period. Your tax code if you have it.
What is the difference between Plus Blue and Standard Blue?
Plus Blue includes your home address and National Insurance number, with more space for deduction lines. Standard Blue shows the same pay information without the address, at £35 for three.
Can I order payslips for several months?
Yes. Payslips are supplied in sets of three, with additional payslips at £6.00 each, so you can build up a run covering as many pay periods as you need.
Which tax years can you produce?
2019 to 2026.
Is a wage slip the same as a payslip?
Yes. Payslip, wage slip and salary slip all describe the same document. The Employment Rights Act 1996 calls it an itemised pay statement.
Can I get a copy of my payslip from HMRC?
No. HMRC does not issue payslips; your employer does. HMRC can show you the same pay and tax figures through your personal tax account, which you can print or save as a PDF.
Do you post printed copies?
Yes. Printed copies are laser printed on genuine payroll stationery and posted by Royal Mail the next working day. Email delivery is the same working day.
